Thank you to all who participated in the special lunches for the feasts of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple (December 4), the Nativity of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (Christmas, January 7), and Theophany (January 19). The festal lunches were delicious and enjoyed by all. Also, thank you to those who helped decorate the church and hall for all these occasions, especially Christmas. The flowers beautifully surrounded the icons, and the church was adorned with exquisite poinsettias and trees. The Christmas gift baskets delivered to the elderly and shut-in parishioners were very well received. Thank you from Anna Judd and myself to all who donated items, helped put these generous baskets together, and especially, to those that delivered them.
Our next holidays and events will be the Meeting of Our Lord and Savior on Friday, February 15, the annual Blini Luncheon on Sunday, February 24, Forgiveness (Cheesefare) Sunday on March 10, and the Veneration of the Holy Cross on March 31. We will need volunteers to help assemble verbiy for Palm Sunday, and, if you have any flowers to donate for these verbiy, they would be accepted graciously.
We will also be taking preorders for our cheese pascha and kulichi, and will have tvorog (farmer’s cheese) and vanilla sticks available for purchase. Please contact me for preorders and purchases, or look for the signups in the church at the candle counter or at the bar in the hall.
If you would like to help out on future Sunday or holiday lunches, please contact me, our lunch scheduler.
Please do not forget our ailing members and shut-ins who could always use our prayers, visits, and phone call. We will need volunteers to donate their time to create the gift baskets for these folks closer to Easter. For more information on ways to help, please contact our Outreach person, Anna Judd at annaljudd@comcast.net.
Our Annual Sisterhood Meeting will be held on Sunday, February 10, after lunch. Hope to see you there! Thank you to everyone for their continuing support of and dedication to the Sisterhood.
